Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

This is a partially open tapered bake element for electric ovens and ranges made by Whirlpool and other Whirlpool made brands like Kenmore, Sears, Roper, and Kitchen Aid. Below, you can find approximate measurements of this bake element or you can check your model number to see if this bake element is the correct fit for your oven or range.

Ways to check for a bad bake element:

  1. You can see if the element is bad just by looking at the body. If you see burn marks, it probably needs to be replaced.
  2. Checking for continuity will assure you whether the bake element is bad or not. To do that, you would need to use an ohmmeter (always unplug the appliance you’re working with before testing with an ohmmeter). If the ohmmeter shows zero ohms, the bake element needs to be replaced.

This bake element will fit some Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Roper, Kenmore, and Sears ovens and ranges. Made by Whirlpool. 240 volt. Approximate size: Length: 17″, width: 19-3/8″, spacing between terminals: 13″, mount bracket to terminal: 3-1/4″. Part Number: 834679.

This is a closed hinge terminal bake element made by Whirlpool. This bake element will also fit other Whirlpool made brands for electric ovens and ranges such as Kenmore, Sears, Kitchen Aid, and Roper. If you think your bake element is faulty, there are two ways to check. First, you can look for any visible body damage. If you see burn marks on the element, it’s probably bad. Another way is to check the bake element for continuity with an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter shows no continuity, the element needs to be replaced. If you end up needing a new bake element, check your model number to make sure this one will fit your oven or range.

This bake element was made by Whirlpool and will fit some Whirlpool made brands. Check your model number to make sure this bake element will fit your oven or range. This is a partially openend tapered bake element with a 19-1/8″ spacing between the terminals (see below for other measurements).

Ways to check for a faulty bake element:

  1. One way to determine if your bake element is bad would be to look for visible body damage. If there are burn marks on your element, it most likely needs to be replaced.
  2. The other way to check for a bad element is to test it for resistance. You could do that by using an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter shows 0 ohms, your bake element needs to be replaced. Note: Always unplug any appliance you’re working with before performing any tests.

This bake element will fit some electric ranges or ovens made by Whirlpool, Kenmore, Sears, Roper, and Kitchen Aid. Approximate size: Length: 15-3/8″, width: 21-3/4″, spacing between terminals: 19-1/8″. Made by Whirlpool. Part Number: 326793.

Checking for a bad bake element:

  1. You could determine whether the element is bad or not by looking at it. Check the body and see if there are any burn marks. If so, you probably have to replace it.
  2. A more effective way would be to check the bake element for continuity. You can do that by using an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter shows no resistance, the bake element is bad and needs to be replaced. Note: Always unplug your appliance when testing any of the components.
