Steps To Installation
Before you do anything more so, you will need to remove the old unit that you may have.  To do this, it is essential that you turn off all power running through that area of the kitchen. Turn off the water at the valve as well.  Usually, the one located under your sink area is the right one.  Turn off the main house valve as well then drain all water in the lines by opening up the lines.  Remove the old dishwasher carefully, without doing any damage to anything that it is attached to.
Follow these steps, unless your dishwasher has other directions.

  1. You will need to install a shut off valve for the dishwasher unless you currently have one.  Disconnect the supply tube from the sink; allow it to drain into a container.  Then, use a wrench to disconnect the shutoff valve from the supply nipple.  Next, use pipe wrap tape around the nipple’s threads.  You can then screw a new dual outlet valve onto it.
  1. Next, an air gap for the dishwasher needs to be installed.  Look for the right sized unused hole in the sink top for this.  You may have to punch it out.  Then, insert the air page.  You can use slip joint pliers to help with this part of the job.  You will secure it using a locknut.  Push the nut into its place.
  1. Now, slide the dishwasher near to the opening that you’ll be placing it into.  There should be holes that are drilled through the cabinet’s back corner under the sink.  Here, you will need to push through the supply tube, the hose and the power cord from the dishwasher.  Carefully slide the dishwasher back, into place.  Do not tangle any of these connectors or place the dishwasher on any of them.
  1. Now that it is in place, you can go to the cabinet under the sink to finish the work.  Reconnect the sink’s supply tube to the newly installed dual outlet valve.  You can then connect the supply tube to the valve’s second outlet and to the dishwasher’s inlet.  Finally, tighten everything.
  1. The final step!  You need to slip one hose clamp over each of the ends of the short drain hose.  These will run form your garbage disposal (if you have one) to the large outlet on the air gap.  Tighten the clamps snuggly.  You will repeat this with the longer drain hose.  This runs from the small outlet on the air gap to the drain at the bottom of the dishwasher.  You are done!

Depending on the style and the features of your dishwasher, you may need to adjust these directions for installing a dishwasher slightly.
