The Maytag Company was founded in 1907 by Frederick Louis Maytag. His ultimate goal as he stated it was to build quality appliances using long lasting, durable materials, and he began simply with the washer industry. Over the last one hundred years, this idea has found success in drawing customers to the name brand and has allowed the Maytag Company to expand exponentially, building upon this dream, to include all manner of major appliances. Having lasted one hundred years on the market with such a great reputation is no small feat, with the overwhelming competition and the number of competitive brands that have gone bankrupt over such a time span.
The full line of products now offered by the Maytag Company includes washers, refrigerators, oven ranges, stovetops, and more. The corporation manufactures appliances for both household and commercial applications, as well. Maytag himself stated that he never wanted the “company to forget its responsibility to deliver quality machines to the public”, and the operators today keep this in mind, finding new and innovative ways to improve the products supplied. The company employs a number of people simply to brainstorm and test new product ideas in manufacturing plants. In fact, Maytag is a major American employer, hosting thousands of jobs that are available in the United States by an American owned and operated company.
The Maytag Company is known more than anything for having some of the most dependable and longest lasting washers on the market, though, as mentioned, the line of products is much broader than simple laundry appliances. Maytag manufactures a full line of kitchen appliances and also some smaller appliances, such as blenders, food processors, and more. All products by the Maytag Company endure rigorous testing and approval through quality assurance departments prior to release.
In recent years, the Maytag Company was actually acquired by the Whirlpool Corporation, which now acts as the parent company for Maytag. This acquisition by another major trustworthy appliance brand name simply reinforces the idea that Maytag produces quality products that remain profitable due to excellence in manufacturing and customer service. The purchase by Whirlpool also allows for greater financial support to further innovate new and exciting projects in building better, more efficient appliances.
As part of the Whirlpool conglomerate, the Maytag Company will continue to grow and produce new lines of products, perhaps joining in forces with Whirlpool to manufacture such devices as vacuums and other household products that the parent company already provides.
Maytag products are sold in specialty stores, as well as large corporate chains that offer major appliances. With a greater recognition than almost any other name brand, the Maytag Company has left its mark on the major appliance industry and will continue to evolve with the needs of consumers.

On Oct. 26,2005 Coastal Mechanical, LLC, 1302 Live Oak Ave., Pascagoula, MS installed a Maytag 3 1/2 system, with furnace at our home, 4211 Greenwood Avenue, Pascagoula, MS for the total sum of $3,056.00. Our daughter, Bobby Schillereff bought the air conditioner and heater and we have refunded the amount to her. Neither of us have received a warranty for these items and I have the model numbers for each of them. Can I request a warranty for these items? Your Company is well respected and items made are so good, we cannot believe we should not have a warranty. Your reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For sure the maytag product endures a lifetime.Mine just went on the frits last week. There was nothing wrong with the washer except for a few leaks on the undercarriage. The washer I’m sure is at least 25 years old. Could you possibly supply me with the year that it was manufactured.
Model #A210S Series 01 Serial #834947LP

We have Neptune washer and dryer. Performance is fine, but I cannot keep ahead of the mold formation using the clorox cleaning techniques you recommend; frankly I do not think this expensive appliance should require all this maintenance.
When not in use my front-load washer always contains a large amount of residual water. Naturally mold forms.
Questions: 1- Is this a design fact? (Maytag salesmen say it is not).
2- Or is it a defect in my machine, which really should be corrected? Paul Schlein, M.D.
