This Maytag made bake element is used in many electric ovens and ranges made by Maytag made brands. It is a fully open bake element with approximately 13-1/3″ spacing between the terminals (see below for other measurements).

Checking for a bad bake element:

1. You could determine whether the element is bad or not by looking at it. Check the body and see if there are any burn marks. If so, you probably have to replace it.
2. A more effective way would be to check the bake element for continuity. You can do that by using an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter shows no resistance, the bake element is bad and needs to be replaced. Note: Always unplug your appliance when testing any of the components.
