This is a Maytag Spade terminal bake element commonly used in Maytag made electric ovens and ranges. This 16″ spade bake element has 1-3/4″ of spacing between the terminals (more measurements listed below). Check your model number to make sure this Maytag bake element will work for your oven or range.

If you think that your bake element went bad, there are two ways to make sure:

1. Looking for burn marks on the body. If you see any, you probably need to replace the element.
2. Another way is to check for continuity which you can do with an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter shows no continuity, the bake element needs to be replaced. Note: Remeber to always unplug your appliance when working with any any of its’ components.
