Maytag Oven Igniter (12400035)
Sat, Dec 2, 2006
When a Maytag oven stops working, some would automatically think that there’s something wrong with the gas valve. Most of the time the gas valve is okay. The most common cause would be the oven igniter. How to tell if you’re igniter is bad? If it glows bright white, there’s nothing wrong with it. However, if the glow is orange or red, it probably needs to be replaced.
This oven igniter fits most Maytag, Magic chef, Jenn Air, GE, and Tappan gas ovens. It replaces all flat igniters. It does not replace round igniters or igniters with blue ceramic. Made by Maytag. Part Number: 12400035.
