If you are not sure if this element will fit your model, refer to the model list at the bottom of this post.
There are two ways to check for a faulty bake element. One way is to look for any burn marks on the element itself. If you dont see any visible damage, you want to check your element for continuity. Remeber to always unplug any appliance before doing so. To check your element for continuity, you would need to use an ohmmeter. If your bake element shows no resistance, it needs to be replaced.

one question regarding Maytag Oven Bake Element (74003019)
when you say “If your bake element shows no resistance, it needs to be replaced.” do you mean that if it shows infinite resistance? If it shows no resistance then does that not mean there is perfect continuity? Just making sure I am diagnosing this correctly.

Both 0 Ohms or ∞ Ohms readings show that the heating element is bad. 0 Ohms means it’s shorted while ∞ Ohms means it’s open or in other words it’s burned out. Normally, the reading should be between 15 Ohms to 45 Ohms for different elements.
